The Wild West was a time of lawlessness and violence, but it was also a time of great opportunity for those who were willing to take risks. For women, the West offered a chance to escape the constraints of society and live a life of adventure. Some women took to the stage as actresses or dancers, while others became outlaws or lawmen. But no matter what their path, these women all left their mark on the history of the Wild West.

Belle Starr was eventually captured and sentenced to life in prison, but she escaped and continued her life of crime until she was killed by a posse in 1889.
